I sew a lot of delicate synthetics and this silicone sole has saved me from scorching them more than once. It handles the 250°C setting on my iron without any smell or warping, which honestly surprised me.

Bought this mainly for my linen shirts, which always scorched no matter how low I set the iron. With this silicone soleplate I can go up to 250°C on cotton and the fabric comes out crisp with zero shiny marks. It's a bit fiddly to clip on at first, but now I just leave it on.
